This month’s playlist is rife with alternative and indie rock from the ages (from Veruca Salt to Vampire Weekend). The title — "Salt, Grit & Power" — is a reference to master sommelier John Szabo's book on volcanic wines, pointing to this natural, organic wine made from grapes grown beside an ancient Hungarian volcano. In addition to the rock, this playlist also has some soul, pop and Tropicália, all with the drive and energy of a volcano, or rumblings of a long-dormant one getting ready to pop.
