This fabled aperitif (banned in 1906, not reintroduced until 1990) has flavours of wild cherry with a quinine backbone.  The  "Green Devil" label is probably Leonetto Cappiello's most famous poster.

Salers has been crafting this gentian aperitif in the Massif Central since 1885, four years before Suze.  The finest yellow gentian is meticulously collected on the slopes of Puy Mary, near the charming village of Salers, and processed within twenty-four hours.
