Tiny production single-vineyard wine from a coastal plot with sea breezes that add a refreshing salinity. One of the few Palomino vineyards outside of Spain!
Well-regarded entry level old-vine Chenin (planted 1960s to mid-70s) from the esteemed Badenhorst estate. Word from Swartland is that 2025 was a dream vintage. Vigneron's notes: Flinty aromas with notes of honey, orange blossom, and white stone fruit. It has exceptional texture and palate weight, with lovely, concentrated flavours.
Beautifully complex, with a big aroma profile and pronounced grapefruit, quince, and spice flavours. The mouthfeel is grippy with a refreshing tannin structure. - Vigneron's notes
Pallagrello Bianco became a favourite of King Ferdinand IV. He set aside a place for the grape in his famous "Vigna del Ventaglio", or "fan-shaped" vineyard, which was reserved for only his favourite vines. It's a much-loved, yet almost extinct, green-skinned grape variety thought to have originated in Campania. Alepa's Pallegrello is like browned butter, slate, and white flower, with a warm amber colour.
Unique Mediterranean-Burgundian winemaking from good pals Paul Perarnau (the farmer) and Willy Roulendes (the vigneron). The grapes are harvested from two certified organic parcels, one situated below the famed Puligny-Montrachet and one in the Southernmost region of Côte de Beaune, Maranges.
High elevation site with soils heavy in clay and light in limestone, from a plot in front of Santenay. Sharp green apple mellowed out with a creamy secondary fermentation.
Pernand-Vergelesses organic Chardonnay, distinguished by its freshness and balance. It reveals a golden colour and delicate aromas of white fruits, accompanied by a subtle minerality. No other region in the world is as praised for its ancient knowledge of terroir passed down by monks centuries ago.
Saint-Romain in Cote de Beaune is the foot of a high cliff with enough elevation to look out over a wide stretch of countryside. Soils are from the earliest epoch of the Jurassic period, consisting of shales and limestones rich in fossils as old as 208 million years. The white wines are pale gold with green tinges. Its nose ranges through lime and white flowers with mineral grace notes. Classic for fish.
Fruit from 60-year-old vines gets basket-pressed and the juice sits on lees for 10 months before bottling. A slight edge of smokiness gives this wine's crisp fruit profile an added layer of complexity.
