The only Burgundy AOC that allows Sauvignon Blanc/Gris. In fact, while Pinot Noir and Chardonnay can be grown there, they are not allowed the Saint-Bris Appellation.
Hand-harvested organically farmed Jacquere and Altesse grapes from southwest-facing vineyard ‘Les Chateaux’ in Chignin. Old vines (50 years), densely planted on silty limestone soils worked with horse-plow. Carefully sorted whole clusters, delicately pressed and fermented in the tank without additions. Natural malolactic fermentation, 4 months aging in the tank.
Heavy skin contact gives this wine a rich golden colour and a striking tannin that's elevated by its gorgeous tropical fruit and Turkish Delight aromas.
Dirk Niepoort's Nat'Cool project features 1L bottles of wine in lighter styles. This White from Portugal has Arinto, Loureiro, and other grapes in the blend and smells like green apples, with a very fresh profile.
